Our official opening on May 1st was a huge success. We were honoured to have our school's namesake, Mr. Stephen Lewis, attend. Other attendees included Her Worship, Mayor Hazel McCallion, our architects from CS&P Architects Inc., and staff from Peel District School Board.

Upon Mr. Lewis' arrival, he planted a maple tree which will bear a plaque marking the occasion. Following that was an official cake-cutting ceremony and a brief tour of the building. The official ceremony, emceed by two students, included student performances and selections played by our Lynx Winds and Drumming, presentation of a cheque in excess of $5000 for the Stephen Lewis Foundation, and a ribbon cutting ceremony.
