We Welcome Students to the 2009-2010 School Year

Another year and another busy, vibrant library continues to exist at S.L.S.S.! For students who are new to our school, remember to always have your student card with you so you can use a computer, check out a book or borrow other supplies (scissors, glue sticks, etc.). Also, food and non-water beverages are not allowed inside the library premises so that our print materials and computers can remain damage-free. So, just eat and drink before you enter!

We will once again run the White Pine Book Club under the supervision of Ms. Devani, our half-time Teacher Librarian. We would like to hear from all of our many avid book readers who would like to be a part of the White Pine Book Club. So, keep your ears and eyes perched and ready for a meeting and sign-up announcement.

As the Twilight series continues to be as popular as ever in our library (and libraries everywhere!!!!), Mrs. BG and Mr. Ellis have collaborated to commemorate this popularity with an exciting field trip to the movies. We will be taking a large group of students to see the movie premiere of New Moon in November. If your are in Grade 9 or 10 and have not yet taken the Accelerated Reader quiz with either Mrs. BG or Mr. Ellis, then make sure you do it soon so that you can come to the movies with us.

Our library "team" consists of Mrs. BG, Ms. Devani and Miss Thompson. Together, we are here to help you with your reading, research and learning needs. We look forward to another exciting year in the library.
